Events

Festival of Our Lady of Walsingham

A Solemn High Mass and Procession took place on Saturday 28th September 2013. The Bishop of Portsmouth, Rt. Revd. Philip Egan, presided at the mass which was celebrated by Fr John Maunder. The Rite used was the recently adopted Ordinariate rite which is based heavily on the American Book of Divine Worship which in turn uses much of the Book of Common Prayer. The Bishop expressed hope that the congregations of St Agatha's and St John's Cathedral could become more united as both work towards the New Evangelisation.

Members of the Southampton Chamber Choir augmented St Agatha's own choir and sang the Kleine Orgelmesse (Little Organ Mass) by Haydn.

The St Agatha's festival took place on February 8th 2014 at 11.00.

The Homily was given by the Abbot of Farnborough Abbey, the Right Reverend Dom Cuthbert Brogan, and

the Mass setting was the Credo Mass by Mozart (K257) sung by The Newman Consort.
